Between 2014 and 2015, UNICEF and the EU have co-hosted a series of additional workshops and high level launches in over 40 countries to support the operationalisation of the Child Rights Toolkit in development cooperation. The following are some examples:
NICARAGUA – October 2014
A high-level launch took place in Nicaragua in October 2014 and was attended by 160 people, along with 20 media representatives. The event was presided over by Ambassador Javier Sandomingo, Head of the EU Delegation in Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Panama and UNICEF Regional Director for Latin America and the Caribbean, Bernt Aasen.

JAMAICA & BELIZE – November 2014
Coinciding with the 25th anniversary of the launch of the Convention of the Rights of the Child, November 2014 also saw Child Rights Toolkit launches in both Jamaica and Belize. Both countries marked this occasion by creating interesting videos as a supplement to their launches (Jamaica video/ Belize video and launch photos).
DO JAMAICAN CHILDREN KNOW THEIR RIGHTS?
On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of the Convention on the Rights of the Child – the most widely ratified treaty in history – UNICEF Jamaica asked a group of children about what they thought their rights are – without scripting. Then we helped them understand more about their actual rights.
UNICEF Belize CRC@25 Celebration!
UNICEF Belize and the European Union invited partners and “friends of children” to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Convention on the Rights of the Child and ask the question: “Is the world a better place for children?” Thank you to our guests and participants who chose to share their afternoon with us, to our speakers, St. Luke Methodist choir and the mistress of ceremony – Photos taken by Danny Chung Photography.
